On the social media platform TikTok , a user from Colombia published a video in which she actually just wanted to go swimming in a lake.

But in the video, it's not just her in the water, but also a capybara - an oversized rodent.

At the beginning, you can see the young woman moving away from the animal with her index finger outstretched.

But suddenly the capybara pounces on her and bites the woman's hair and neck several times. It seems as if the capybara wants to push her under water!

Only when a man with a stick rushes to her aid does the animal let go of her and flee.

Capybaras, also known as capybaras, are the largest rodents in the world. According to a report by Fressnapf, the animals can grow up to one meter tall and weigh over 75 kilograms.

In general, capybaras are very peaceful animals, but if they feel threatened, they know how to defend themselves.
