Golden retriever grandma wants to keep up with younger dogs: What happens next is touching

Michigan (USA) - There's one sight that tugs at the heartstrings of every dog owner: when your four-legged friend is slowly turning grey and you realize that, for better or worse, he's getting on in years. But it's not an easy situation for the animal itself either, especially when it is surrounded by younger dogs and realizes that it can no longer do what it would like to. But this doesn't bother golden retriever grandma "Ginny" from the USA ...

The sweet four-legged senior lives with her two younger sisters Georgia and Shelby in the US state of Michigan and really can't keep up with the youngsters any more.

Georgia and Shelby, who are just three years old, are much faster, more agile and last much longer than ten-year-old Ginny. But that doesn't stop the dog granny from joining in with their wild games and giving it her all.

In a video on the TikTok page of the "pack", you can see how the two three-year-old golden retrievers charge through the garden at lightning speed while Ginny runs after them as fast as she can.

Even though the dog can no longer keep up with the speed of the two younger four-legged friends, she still seems to enjoy the game very much - even when she briefly falls to the ground. After that, however, Ginny seems to need a break and trots happily to her owner.

The positive nature of the golden retriever touches the hearts of users online. "Why did that make me cry? 😭 She's just happy to be there and participate in any way she can," writes one viewer on TikTok.

Others also praise the loving nature of the younger dogs, who still try to include their sister: "I love how she falls down while playing with the younger one and the younger one looks after her and waits for her to get up. Dogs are so attentive."

If you convert the ages of the three dogs into human years, the age difference really becomes clear:
