Golden retriever loses sight of his mistress: his reaction enchants so many

New York City (USA) - Once again, Instagram has shown that a few seconds of video are enough to captivate an audience of millions. This time it's about golden retriever Millie, who lost sight of her owner in New York's Central Park.

Golden retriever Millie and her owner Hayley Zukerberg are one heart and one soul. Even a separation lasting just a few seconds can cause panic in the dog.

The curious video has already cracked the ten million mark in less than a week. In it, the dog runs around on a sidewalk in Central Park with her leash in her mouth.

She looks increasingly desperate and can't see her owner, who is filming her, anywhere. Although the New Yorker is only a few meters away from the dog, she is running around searching.

That's enough to melt the hearts of Insta users by the dozen. More than 600,000 likes have been collected so far - and counting.

"Millie has just turned one year old and is already convinced that she is a grown-up, independent woman," said Hayley Zukerberg in a recent interview with Newsweek.

But why is the golden retriever walking through Central Park with her own leash in her mouth?

According to her owner, Millie has a "Larger than Life" personality, meaning she behaves larger than life as if she were a comic book hero.

"She loves to wear her own leash and walk confidently through the park like she's in charge," Zukerberg told the US magazine.

"I was filming one of these moments when she suddenly stopped mid-walk and turned around as if to say, 'Wait a minute, wasn't I with someone?" the dog lover added.

She was only standing about six meters behind her. But Millie was trapped in her own world, the US-American said.

"She has such a great, funny personality and it makes me so happy when people fall in love with her like I did," the young woman concluded.
