Golden retrievers and tomcats can't stand each other: What the owner then sees melts hearts
Georgia (USA) - When her mistress Paloma finds her two pets, tomcat Cilio and dog Ollie , cuddled up close to each other today , it will still be a small miracle for the American. At first, no one believed that the four-legged friends would ever get along.

Because the story of how the golden retriever and the orange tomcat got to know each other was really quite bumpy. "When we brought our puppy home for the first time, we were worried about how our cat would react," recalls owner Paloma.
Dog Ollie was very interested in the velvet paw from day one and wanted to play with her, but Cilio kept him at a distance - even using his claws if necessary.
In the early days, owner Paloma kept her camera on the two animals and more than once showed wild fights in which Cilio clearly showed his roommate that he wasn't in the mood for closeness or play.
But Ollie just wouldn't let up and kept trying his luck.

Golden Retriever won't let go and wins the cat's heart

"Ollie brought Cilio his toy and didn't understand why Cilio didn't want to play with him," Paloma said on Instagram. "It took them a little while to get used to each other." Nevertheless, the golden retriever didn't give up and remained patient.
As time passed, the friendship between cat and dog slowly began to develop. After the first tentative - and this time mainly affectionate - touches, US-American Paloma suddenly caught her pets lying peacefully next to each other.
"And although they were still getting on each other's nerves, they started to really like each other," says the Instagrammer. Suddenly, Paloma was no longer filming fights, but cuddly moments.
Especially when Cilio suddenly became very ill and almost died, the golden retriever never left his side, not only giving his roommate love, but also serving as a living hot water bottle.
Paloma realized that sometimes, as with us humans, it simply takes time for a bond to form. In the case of her beloved furry friends, even with a real happy ending!
