Pitbull is abandoned in a snowstorm: What the note on his collar says will tear anyone's heart out!
Atlanta (USA) - There is not always malicious intent behind it when a dog is abandoned and left to its fate. Often the dog owners see no other way out and therefore choose the last option, which is certainly heartbreaking for them. Fortunately, this does not necessarily mean that it will end badly - at least for the four-legged friends.

Five-year-old pit bull boxer mix "Andre" certainly didn't understand the world when his owner abandoned him in an Atlanta park - in the middle of a snowstorm.
When the dog was found, a note dangling from his collar revealed the sad story behind the abandonment: "My father is facing homelessness and has no one to take me in," reads the handwritten letter. "I am a really good dog."
Andre's former owner explained that he was "deeply unhappy" and that no shelter would take in his pit bull mix . "Please treat Andre with love and kindness."
Shortly after the four-legged friend's fate was made public on Facebook , a couple agreed to take the dog in for a while.
Meanwhile, they tried to gain even more attention for Andre online.

Pit bull mix finds a happy ending after a difficult journey

That's when attorney Tara Borelli stepped in, not only taking care of the pit bull for a few months, but also stirring up more publicity for the animal emergency.
She told PEOPLE, "Andre was found tied up in a yard near Piedmont Park with a note on his collar. I think his owner had left him there to make him as visible as possible, hoping someone would see him and take him to safety."
However, when her own dog became ill, the lawyer had to part with Andre with a heavy heart and he ended up in an animal shelter.
Things didn't look good for him at first.
As journalist Kaitlyn Ross reported on Facebook, Andre was even threatened with euthanasia, as animal shelters in the south-east of the USA are severely overcrowded. "It breaks my heart to think that he has already lost hope once and will now lose it forever."
But the dog's guardian angel intervened once again on his behalf and a suitable foster home was found at the beginning of May. If all goes well, Andre will be adopted by the family and, after this exciting and difficult journey, will finally be able to find peace in a loving home.
