Swastika scandal at school: teacher demands inclusion of Nazi symbol!
USA - A swastika was discovered on a wall at anAmerican school last Monday, whereupon a teacher called for the symbol to be included.

After the symbol was found, the elementary school principal wrote a letter explaining that not all swastikas should be viewed negatively.
As Komo News reported, Heather Snookal had initially sent a message to the school's parents calling the swastika a "symbol of hate" after it was spray-painted as graffiti on the school wall.
A few hours later, after apparently receiving a complaint from a parent, she followed up with a second message apologizing and retracting her condemnation of the symbol.
"In Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and other ancient cultures, the swastika is a symbol of peace, prosperity and happiness. We know that for many of our families, this symbol has a positive and spiritual meaning that is completely unrelated to the hateful associations it has taken on in recent history," she wrote in the message.
She emphasized that the community should be educated about the multiple meanings and histories behind symbols like the swastika to avoid misunderstandings that could unintentionally marginalize or hurt students.
Many parents did not like the principal's answer at all

Many parents reacted indignantly to this email. They emphasized that the symbol clearly stands for hate in the context of vandalism.
"For me, it's the most twisted form of inclusion we can imagine - asking Jewish families in this day and age to be tolerant of the swastika," explained one mother whose daughters attend the school.
Another mother expressed the opinion that the principal should resign. She explained that this would create a trust issue, as she did not know how to trust an educator who could not distinguish between a call for violence and a call for peace.
The school district responsible has since suspended Snookal and is investigating the incident.
