TV presenter dies and announces her own death on Instagram: These were her last words
Australia - Fiona MacDonald is dead. The Australian TV presenter was only 67 years old and bid farewell to her followers on Instagram with emotional words.

Almost three years ago, the Australian was diagnosed with a rare motor neuron disease (MND). In this neuromuscular disease, nerve cells that control muscle strength are progressively damaged. This results in paralysis of the arms and legs. The functions of chewing, swallowing, speaking and breathing are also affected.
What is particularly tragic is that it was not her family but the TV presenter herself who announced her death on Instagram. Yesterday, Thursday, her sister Kylie shared Fiona's last message to her fans. According to the message, the past few months had been very hard for the 67-year-old.
Fiona had no longer been able to eat or swallow any food and had "slowly starved to death and become weaker and weaker".
She was also plagued by unbearable back pain.

In the end, she went to hospital to stop "all medical support" and end palliative care. She spent time with her loved ones until the very end. Snapshots on Instagram show Fiona with her sons Harry and Rafe and her sister.
"So let's not call it goodbye, because I hope to see you again on the other side," wrote the presenter, who appeared in Australian children's series such as "Wombat", in her final message.
Shortly after Fiona received her diagnosis, she and one of her sisters toured Australia to raise 223,000 Australian dollars (the equivalent of around 138,228 euros) for research into her disease.
There are currently hardly any treatment options for MND and no cure.
