At first glance, "Gatsby" is a very ordinary cat. However, if you look at his appearance, you will notice that his black fur is covered with many white spots.

The spots not only cover his elegant feline body, but are also dotted around his face.

There is a good reason for the cat's special appearance. "Gatsby" suffers from vitiligo, the so-called white spot disease. This can occur not only in humans, but also in animals.

Only one to two percent of all people are affected by this harmless skin disease, and even fewer animals.

Dogs can also have vitiligo

The cat's fur, speckled with white dots, is somewhat reminiscent of a galaxy. So it's no wonder that "Gatsby" is called "galaxykitty" on Instagram.

Users love the unusual look of the bicolor furry friend. More than 121,000 fans follow "Gatsby" on Instagram. "Definitely nothing compares to your beauty," raves one person under one of the many posts.

But "Gatsby" is not the only animal with vitiligo. Dog "Fanny", who also has a profile on Instagram, was also affected by the white spot disease.

Unfortunately, the dog has since passed away.
