Woman finds baby kitten and brings it home: The reaction of her nervous pit bull leaves her flabbergasted!
Barstow (USA) - In most cases, cats and dogs are not the best of friends. If the former also has a nervous side, it's better to think twice about bringing a helpless tiny baby kitten into the house. But Lia Salmai dared to do just that - and was more than surprised.

In September, the US-American, who lives in Barstow with her pit bull Major, suddenly heard a heartbreaking meowing. After a brief search, she discovered a kitten just a few days old under the hood of her neighbor's car.
Lia knew immediately that she wanted to give the kitten a home, but she was a little unsure whether the cat would be safe with her.
Although her four-legged friend Major was a good-natured animal, he was a so-called "reactive" dog. Affected pets completely overreact to certain stimuli and go from 0 to 180 in a matter of seconds.
"I was nervous at first, not because I thought Major was going to hurt her on purpose, but because the kitten was so small and fragile," the US-American recalls to Newsweek. "He'd never been around a kitten before, so I wasn't sure how he would react."
But it turned out that the dog owner's worries were completely unfounded. Because the pit bull fell in love with the helpless kitten from second one.

As if he had taken in dozens of baby cats before, Major knew immediately how to deal with "Mr. Mittens". "He saw the state the kitten was in when I brought him in and just wanted to be near him."
Since the dog and cat have been living together, they are truly inseparable and do everything together - from sleeping to playing. "Never in my life" would Lia have thought that such a deep bond would develop between the two animals in such a short space of time.
"I love watching them together. He is very gentle with her, although she loves to attack him by surprise," says the Californian happily. For her, it is confirmation that her decision to take in the orphaned kitten was the right one.
On TikTok , where Lia shared a video of Major and Mr. Mittens, users are melting at the sight of the cuddling animals. Under the video, which has been viewed more than 3.9 million times, one user wrote: "Even reactive dogs deserve a chance."
