"We're in shock": ex-Bundesliga star's luxury home burnt down
Madrid (Spain) - Family and fans in shock, luckily for Borja Mayoral (27)! The former Bundesliga star 's home caught fire yesterday afternoon.

According to media reports, the fire broke out at around 2.50 p.m. on the upper floor of the luxurious villa in Pozuelo de Alarcon, a town around 15 kilometers west of Madrid.
According to reports, the flames had spread to the eaves, causing some damage to the roof.
The 27-year-old himself, as well as his partner Flavia Natalini and their son Liam (1), were not at home during the fire. At the time, the professional footballer was accepting the Zarra trophy awarded by the national sports newspaper Marca as the best Spanish goalscorer of the past season.
Meanwhile, firefighters battled to prevent the flames from spreading and were eventually able to bring the fire under control and extinguish it.
As ABC reports, two dogs that were reportedly in the property were rescued and handed over to neighbors until the couple arrived. Further details on the exact cause are not yet known.
Instagram pictures show the extent of the destruction

Mayoral, who was on loan to Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg in 2016, posted pictures of the burnt-down house on Instagram - and wrote: "Fortunately, my family and I are fine."

His partner also explained in an Insta story: "We're still in shock, but we're all fine and that's the most important thing". She also thanked the firefighters and wrote: "You are heroes."
Mayoral has been under contract with FC Getafe since 2022 and has played 62 competitive matches for the La Liga club to date, scoring 23 goals.
