This incident occurred around two weeks ago in the US state of Arizona.

As the New York Post reports, witnesses alerted the Phoenix police at around 2 a.m. after seeing a car crash into a pool.

In a tweet, investigators stated that the driver had accidentally pressed too hard on the gas pedal.

Officers quickly arrived at the scene and realized that there was a person in the car.

Without hesitation, a police officer jumped into the water to help the person trapped in the car. Using a metal bar, he smashed the glass roof, allowing the man to climb out of the sunken vehicle seconds later.

The officers were able to pull the soaked but grateful man safely out of the pool. He was taken to a local hospital shortly afterwards for examination, although it is unfortunately not yet known what injuries, if any, he sustained.
