Little Valina Fetiu (8) made it all the way to the final of the championships, where she was beaten by a girl from Serbia, but was delighted to win the silver medal.

For the father, who also acts as a coach, the defeat was apparently reason enough to treat his own daughter abominably.

As video footage on X shows, Valina went towards her father after the fight, who had nothing better to do than pull his daughter towards him by her helmet and rip it off her head. The little girl fell to the ground, visibly exhausted and crying.

He then pulled her towards him by her vest and punched her in the face with his open right hand in front of an official and the completely stunned winner.

He had apparently already spoken threatening words to her beforehand.

After the father had freed her from her vest, Valina cried bitterly, nothing more could be seen of her father in the video, instead the girl was comforted by a female referee.

Father and coach Valmir Fetiu then provides a disgusting explanation for his behavior

After the video had already gone viral and caused outrage not only in the taekwondo world, but in many countries, father Valmir Fetiu justified himself in a disgusting way.

"She is my daughter and nobody loves her more than me. At the moment when she was disoriented and angry about losing to the Serbian competitor, she was down and unable to accept defeat. I just wanted to calm her down and make her realize that despite the defeat, she is the vice champion and that her time will come," the father told Kosovar media.

However, the action not only brought him to the attention of the European Taekwondo Federation, which suspended him for six months, but also the KOMF (Kosovar Coalition of Non-Governmental Organizations for the Protection of Children).

"Violence cannot be justified by anything and should never be used as a means of discipline, as it harms the emotional well-being and psychological development of children and creates fear and insecurity instead of respect and self-confidence," it said on Facebook.
