"This travel hack has saved me from so many middle seats over the years. It's actually never let me down and has a 100% success rate when done correctly," the Australian writes on his viral Instagram post.

What's more, he definitely "doesn't fancy" paying extra for a window seat when he can enjoy the great view for free.

Tually shows his more than 450,000 followers exactly how this works with his flight from Bologna to Barcelona with the airline Ryanair.

The influencer uses a kind of reverse psychology in the booking process: Instead of being assigned a seat between two other passengers by random seat assignment with a high probability, Tually simply selects all the seats he doesn't want directly.

There are still ten middle seats available on his flight from Italy to Spain. He clicks on them all, enters some fantasy names and pretends to order the ten tickets - which of course he doesn't do. The system reserves the selected seats for about ten minutes during the ordering process. This is exactly when Tually strikes and begins a second ordering process, in which he is automatically assigned one of the good seats by random seat allocation.

The Australian doesn't see the point in paying extra for a window seat.

To be on the safe side and make sure that the trick really always works, Tually recommends booking on a computer. The chances of success are even better shortly before check-in, when there are only a few seats left.
