After tragic baby death: company recalls mass quantities of ready-to-eat meat!
USA - Following several illnesses and the death of a small child, over 72,000 kilograms of ready-to-eat meat have been recalled.

As reported by the New York Post, the US Food and Drug Administration announced last Friday that Yu Shang Food brand products in the USA are affected nationwide.
This is due to at least ten confirmed cases of listeria food poisoning.
Particularly tragic: a baby died after coming into contact with the affected meat and poultry products.
The deceased child was a twin. The sibling twin also died, but the death could not be linked to listeria.

The pregnant mother of the twins also fell ill, but fortunately recovered.
"Listeria was found in a sample from the mother and one of the twins, but not in the other child. Therefore, only the mother and one twin are considered confirmed cases in this outbreak," a health department official explained.
The problem was discovered back in October when routine tests detected the bacteria in both the food and the production environment, leading to an initial recall earlier this month.
