Labuan Bajo (Indonesia) - The Lewotobi Laki-Laki volcano on the Indonesian island of Flores is not coming to rest. After a major eruption on Saturday, the mountain of fire spewed fire and ash again on Sunday evening (local time).

In both eruptions, the ash column reached a height of 4,000 meters, according to the Centre for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation.
The eruption was reportedly accompanied by a loud bang. Authorities called on residents and visitors to avoid the crater within a radius of six kilometers. People were also asked to wear masks for protection.
The last time there was a major eruption was in March, which also affected air traffic on the island of Bali, which is popular with tourists from all over the world. The volcano, which is around 1600 meters high, had already erupted at the end of last year.
Several people died under the rubble of their burning homes. Thousands were forced to flee and were housed in evacuation centers. Even then, numerous flights to and from Bali were canceled. The island is only around 500 kilometers away from the volcano.
