Athletico Paranaense's match against EC Cruzeiro from Belo Horizonte had only just kicked off when Rafa Silva (32) could no longer control himself.

The visitors' striker got carried away and assaulted Kaique Rocha (23) in the penalty area. The central defender went to the ground, holding his neck after Silva elbowed him.

Referee Rodrigo Pereira (37) had no choice but to show the red card and send Silva to the showers after just three seconds.

The striker did his team a real disservice with this action. After all, his team had actually gone into the game as favorites and ended up being beaten 3:0 while outnumbered.

Some fans took to social media to call for the striker to be sent off immediately.

Sporting director Alexandre Mattos (48) demanded a harsh punishment for his striker. "The fine will be within the limits of the law," he said in the post-match press conference.
