Boy (†7) feeds his own dogs with his mother: they suddenly pounce on him
Quévy (Belgium) - A terrible incident in the Belgian province of Hainaut: a child has been mauled to death by several dogs in a village near the capital Mons.
Little Aodren was only seven years old when the terrible tragedy took its course on Thursday afternoon in the Belgian village of Quévy.
According to media reports, the boy was attacked and mauled by five dogs from his own family kennel.
As reported by the RTBF radio station, among others, the seven-year-old wanted to feed the animals together with his mother when they suddenly pounced on him.
They are said to have been Alaskan Malamute dogs, a breed that originates from the Arctic regions and belongs to the sled dog family. They resemble huskies in appearance, but are generally larger and heavier.
Mother separates son from dogs, but he cannot be saved
The boy's mother immediately intervened and was able to separate the animals from her son. However, despite first aid, the rescue workers who arrived were unable to do anything more for Aodren.
The police have launched an investigation and are investigating manslaughter, it was reported.
"It is a drama that affects a family, but it is also a drama that affects the whole of Quévy and its inhabitants," Mayor David Volant was quoted as saying. A psychological service has been made available to anyone who needs support.
