Bridesmaid doesn't want to give in to the bride's wishes - and decides to take a radical step
USA - Of course, the wedding day belongs first and foremost to the couple - especially the bride! But can she really get away with anything on her special day? The sister-in-law (and bridesmaid!) of a bride-to-be obviously didn't think so - and turned down the role intended for her without further ado when the hustle and bustle got too much for her ...
The 25-year-old recently vented her frustration on Reddit. She was actually supposed to be a bridesmaid for the wedding of her sister-in-law (31), her husband's sister. She was already known as a "control freak" and lived up to her reputation during the preparations for the ceremony.
The fuss was triggered by the bridesmaids' dresses. These had already been chosen by the bride-to-be and her three closest friends before her sister-in-law was brought on board.
According to the 25-year-old, the fact that she had to pay for the dress herself was completely fine with her and she even came to terms with the fact that the dresses showed a lot of skin, which she didn't really feel comfortable with.
She also swallowed the fact that her well-being and taste were ignored when choosing her outfit, but in the end her husband's sister went too far!
"My sister-in-law told me last week that she didn't want my tattoos to stand out and she didn't want them covered up because they would be inappropriate in church and she didn't want them in the pictures," the (ex) bridesmaid complained on Reddit.
"I told her I didn't think it was fair to expect something like that from me as she knew I had tattoos and had still chosen a dress where you can still see them."
Wedding fuss: Tattoos bad - sexy dresses good?
The bride-to-be finally argued that the tattoos would not fit in with the marriage ceremony in the Catholic church. But that really upset her sister-in-law.
Tattoos unchristian - but extremely body-hugging dresses that show a lot of skin within reason? The 25-year-old no longer understood the world and resigned from her role as bridesmaid without further ado.
"I got angry because it's always the people who create a sense of religious guilt right from the start, but don't even follow their faith properly themselves and make hasty judgments."
The young woman will probably still go to the wedding, which won't take place for a few months, if only for her husband's sake. However, she will no longer be part of the inner circle of "Bridezilla". However, she received a lot of encouragement for her decision on Reddit.
