Cat causes chaos at veterinary clinic and drives staff up the wall, but the web celebrates him

Rowlett (Texas, USA) - A cat with the funny name "Dr. George" leads a very unusual life: The furry friend is part of a team at a veterinary clinic - and regularly drives his human colleagues up the wall!

Vet Dr. Amber Wawak found the lively cat all alone on a road in the US state of Texas last year. She took him in for the time being, vaccinated and neutered the former stray.

After that, he was supposed to be rehomed by an animal shelter, but the cat kept being returned by families. So Amber took the animal in and gave him the cute name Dr. George. "I realized I couldn't be without him," the Rowett veterinary clinic employee told Newsweek.

Because Amber is at work all day, she takes the four-legged friend with her to the clinic every day. Although all the staff get along well with Dr. George, he sometimes pushes them to their limits.

"He's not allowed to move around freely in the clinic because we're worried about his safety. So he is temporarily locked in a kennel or in the back room if no one can look after him."

But the freedom-loving cat is not so easy to lock away.

Dr. George has often escaped and caused a lot of chaos. Videos on Instagram show how the curious runaway makes a detour into the operating room, breaks into the pantry and steals medication, as well as stopping staff from working on the computer.

On his Instagram account, which is run by owner Amber, he regularly makes his 12,600 followers laugh.

Although the cat causes so much trouble and sometimes gets on the nerves of his human colleagues, he has become an "indispensable employee", says Amber.
