Crash drama: German biathlon ace's World Championship dreams shattered within seconds
Lenzerheide - That's very, very bitter! He had won his first World Championship medal in the mixed relay , on Saturday in the sprint the German biathlon ace Justus Strelow (28) wanted to do the same in Lenzerheide, but within a few seconds his dreams were shattered.

Strelow started the race with bib number 30 and set a really good time by his standards in the first lap up to the shooting range.
Shooting is one of his greatest strengths, and he also secured the bronze medal in the mixed relay as the final skier. In the prone position, he showed everyone how much he had his nerves under control and didn't make a single mistake.
In the following lap, he seemed to want to pace himself so that he could really attack again in the final lap. But then his dreams of another medal were shattered within seconds. First, he made a mistake in the standing stage and had to turn into the penalty loop.
Then there was a little drama when the Saxon also fell on his additional meters. As a result, he was unable to make up the deficit in the run due to the mistake in the shooting. He finished 1:53.4 minutes behind the winner.
The other German athletes did not do well in the shooting. Philipp Horn and Danilo Riethmüller shot three misses in the prone position, Philipp Nawrath had two misses in the standing position.
Biathlon: Johannes Thingnes Bø breaks Ole Einar Bjørndalen's World Championship record
Dominator Johannes Thingnes Bø (31), who is currently in first place by a large margin, will probably secure the World Championship title.
With his 21st World Championship title, the Norwegian would replace the great Ole Einar Bjørndalen (51) in the all-time list. His compatriot had won 20 World Championship titles in his time.
