California (USA) - It was supposed to be an unforgettable day at Disneyland California , but the trip ended fatally for an 11-year-old boy.

As reported by the New York Post, Saritha Ramaraju is accused of brutally stabbing her own son Yatin to death. Now she has to stand trial for murder .

The 11-year-old was found dead on March 19 with his throat slit and multiple stab wounds in a hotel room near Disneyland in Anaheim, California, where the two had previously spent three days.

Saritha called the police to the scene herself and confessed to killing her son. She is also said to have swallowed a large quantity of pills, apparently in an attempt to take her own life.

The 48-year-old was then taken to hospital and arrested a day later.

Tragically, the crime happened on the day the boy was supposed to return to his father. The parents had divorced in 2018 and shared custody.
