Brisbane - Following the fatal shark attack in the Australian state of Queensland, the identity of the victim has been confirmed. It is the 17-year-old Australian Charlize Zmuda.

Paramedics from the rescue service then rushed to the beach, but were unable to do anything for the girl due to extremely serious injuries to her upper body.
Particularly tragic: Charlize had only graduated from school a few days ago, as reported by the Daily Star. The 17-year-old wanted to celebrate this milestone in her life with friends on the beach.
After the accident , numerous people laid flowers at the scene. A statement from Charlize's grieving parents said: "We hope that the focus will be on the incredible life she lived and not on the terrible way she died. Charlize was loved by many and was a shining light who truly touched the lives of everyone she met."
