Driven by "Slender Man": After gruesome act, she is released from psychiatric hospital!
USA - At the age of twelve, Morgan Geyser (22) tried to kill one of her classmates. She wanted to impress the mystical figure "Slender Man" with her deed - now she is released from psychiatric treatment.

Her release became possible after her lawyers had repeatedly filed applications over the years - the most recent attempt was finally successful.
As reported by the Associated Press , a judge ordered her release last Thursday. Experts had previously confirmed that Geyser had made considerable progress during her time in the psychiatric facility.
She stopped taking her antidepressants two years ago and has shown no signs of symptoms of illness since then. The 22-year-old also stated that she could never forgive herself for the attack on her former classmate.
Today, eleven years after the crime, Morgan Geyser is no longer considered a "security risk" following her treatment. A plan is now being drawn up for her placement in a residential group and her care.
Morgan Geyser wanted to serve the "Slender Man"

In October 2017, Morgan Geyser was found guilty of the attempted murder of her classmate Payton Leutner in 2014 - she was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Geyser, then twelve years old, and her co-defendant Anissa Weier had lured Payton Leutner into a forest in the US state of Wisconsin during a pyjama party under the pretext of playing hide-and-seek.
There, Geyser stabbed the then twelve-year-old victim a total of 19 times. Payton miraculously survived the brutal attack. Badly injured, she dragged herself to a nearby cycle path where she was discovered and rescued by passers-by.
Geyser and Weier later told officers that they wanted to kill Payton to earn the right to become servants of the Slender Man. They feared that he would "hurt their families" if they did not cooperate.
The Slender Man is a fictional character from internet culture. He is often depicted with long arms and legs and no face. There are now several computer games and movies about him.
