Driver (18) crashes down embankment in Austria with minibus: One dead, eight injured

Schladming (Austria) - In Austria , a minibus crashed over an embankment on a steep mountain road. One passenger was killed . Eight people, including a German, were injured, some of them seriously, according to police reports.

The fully occupied vehicle driven by an 18-year-old woman was traveling downhill on the mountain road near Schladming on Saturday night.
For reasons as yet unexplained, the minibus left the road, plunged around 40 meters over the embankment and overturned several times.
For a 31-year-old man from Austria, all help came too late - he died at the scene of the accident. A 44-year-old Austrian woman and a 27-year-old German suffered serious injuries.
According to the police, they were flown by rescue helicopter to a clinic in Salzburg. According to the authorities, the young driver failed an alcohol test.
