According to a report by Heute.at, the young man from Essen was tobogganing down a designated toboggan run in St. Jakob in Defereggen , Austria , at around 10.30 pm.

Near an intermediate station on the toboggan run, the 21-year-old lost control of his vehicle and fell 80 to 100 meters down the slope into open terrain.

Fortunately, he did not sustain any injuries in the fall. However, he was too drunk to find his own way back onto the track.

The German therefore had to be rescued from the slope by the mountain rescue team using a rope.

As part of a tour group, he spent the afternoon at the Alpe Stalle snack station before returning to the valley by sledge.
