Father calls from prison: How his young son reacts speaks volumes
England - Teddie's father missed his son's first two years. The reason: he is in prison. But as soon as he calls from prison, the little boy is beside himself with excitement.

Mother Maisie MacDonald (24) posted a heartbreaking video on TikTok showing her little son called Teddie. He is concentrating in front of the TV and holding a cuddly toy tightly in his arms.
Suddenly, a woman's voice sounds from mother Maisie's cell phone. It is an automated announcement that a call has just come in from prison.
When the almost two-year-old hears this message, he turns around and quickly runs to his mother. Because he knows for sure that when the woman's automated voice speaks, his father is calling from prison.
Sadly, Teddie hardly knows his father, as his dad was arrested just three days before he was born. The only connection to him is the regular phone calls.
"He's been in prison for almost two years but will be released soon," mother Maisie told Newsweek.

Young mother is criticized for her behaviour

The TikTok video, which has now achieved more than 1.3 million views, is causing mixed feelings among the community. Many users don't understand why the British woman lets her son listen in on the phone calls.
But the 24-year-old defends herself: "People say I'm a bad mother, but I disagree because I'm the only one who is there for him and have been doing everything on my own for almost two years."
He continues: "A phone call means nothing at this young age. He doesn't understand where his father is calling from."
For the young mother, it is clear that she wants to establish and maintain a connection between her son and his father. However, Maisie does not want to forgive him for her ex-partner's long absence, she says.
