Father thinks son is a burglar and shoots him: What he does afterwards is unimaginable!
Texas (USA) - The lawyer Michael C. Howard (68) mistook his disabled son Mark for a burglar and allegedly shot him "accidentally" with a shotgun. What the 68-year-old did afterwards is simply appalling!
As FOX 26 Houston reported, the terrible incident took place on December 1. However, the police only informed Howard a day later.
What had happened in the meantime? The lawyer is said to have loaded the body of his son, who suffers from Down's syndrome, onto the front shovel of an excavator after the fatal shooting and taken it to a remote location on his private property.
For whatever reason, Howard placed his grown boy in a pile of branches, brush and filled plastic bags and burned the body. According to FOX 26 Houston, 17 hours passed before the 68-year-old informed the police on the afternoon of December 2.
The Houston lawyer is said to have told officers at his home that it was all a "terrible accident". He then pointed to his shotgun.

The alerted police finally set off in search of the dead Mark, but were initially unable to find him anywhere - at least not in one piece, as they had assumed.
Later, the emergency services found charred body parts and bones on Howard's extensive private property.
When asked why he had also burned his son after the accidental act, the 68-year-old is said to have replied that Mark would have wanted to be "cremated" after his death.
The police did not believe Howard, handcuffed him and put him in a prison cell. The 68-year-old is now awaiting trial there. Meanwhile, forensic experts are examining the body parts of his son.
