The US broadcaster"FOX26 Houston" received a video from a passenger showing how the wing of her United Airlines plane suddenly caught fire as she tried to take off.

In the clip, a flight attendant can be heard asking passengers to stay in their seats. However, one of the quite rightly worried guests on board replies: "No, it's on fire!". Unrest broke out.

According to the report, the fire broke out in one of the plane's engines at around 8.35 am (local time) at Houston-George Bush Airport. The plane then aborted take-off and everyone on board (104 passengers and five crew members) had to be evacuated. Apparently no one was injured.

According to a report by "FOX26 Houston", the fire department did not have to extinguish the fire. Apparently the flames went out all by themselves. (archive photo)

It is still unclear how the fire started. The Airbus A319 was on its way to LaGuardia Airport in New York. The incident is now being investigated by aviation safety authorities. Just recently, a jet crashedin Philadelphia, killing several people.
