German model takes gender fluidity to America and ends up on magazine cover

Hamburg/Los Angeles - Felix Nieder has made a name for himself in Germany primarily as a gender-fluid model, but is also socially committed. In America, he will therefore appear on the cover of a well-known magazine this Friday.

"Inspired" is the name of the American fashion and lifestyle magazine that is dedicating the cover and 20 pages of the magazine to the 31-year-old from Friday. The magazine will be available throughout America from this Friday alongside Harper's Bazaar, Vogue and GQ.

Nieder is very happy to be able to carry his message further into the world, he told TAG24.

"My wish and my goal is to show the message I have not only in Germany [...]. Unfortunately, there are still problem countries where homosexuality is often punished with the death penalty. America is a very open country, but there are still diversity problems here too." Especially under the newly elected US President Donald Trump (78), who has already made "very clear trans-hostile statements on several occasions", he fears.

Even the United Nations (UN) quickly recognized that the Elmshorn native is committed to much more than the international catwalks and invited him to the Global Impact Awards during his last visit to Los Angeles on the occasion of Fashion Week. An event at which Angelina Jolie (49) was awarded the 2024 Peace Prize for her social commitment.

The author of "When My Gay Self Died", who campaigns for "A Heart for Children", strolled down the blue carpet alongside international starssuch as " Grey's Anatomy" actress Debbie Allen (74).

At the event, Nieder not only came into contact with committed people, but also realized once again how the system works in America.

"Everything happens so quickly via vitamin B. The paths are so much shorter and involve so much less bureaucracy. I got to know the magazine through the event and I was able to tell my story," said Nieder, who not only talks about his coming out at the time, his social commitment in Germany and his gender-fluid modeling on the 20 pages.

The North German also talks about his beginnings between 2016 and 2019 and future plans in the USA - and about what is particularly important to him in this regard.

"I don't just want to be booked because I'm a gimmick, but because I am who I am. I want to make a difference with my work and ensure that there is no more 'diversity-washing'," he emphasized in the interview for the magazine. "And that worldwide!"

In order to gradually raise awareness of gender fluidity, tolerance and respect in the USA, Nieder will be traveling to New York for Fashion Week again in February.

However, he does not want to lose Germany as a role model, but rather "put out his feelers further" in order to set an international example.
