Half marathon tragedy! Runner (24) feels unwell - and dies a short time later in hospital
Glasgow (Scotland) - A charity run in the Scottish capital Glasgow has been overshadowed by a tragedy.

According to several media outlets, a 24-year-old man died tragically yesterday, Sunday, during the "Winter Warmer Run" event.
He had complained of feeling unwell during a half marathon along a park in the heart of the city, reported the British tabloid The Sun , citing the local police.
After the young participant apparently collapsed, the emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident.
After initial medical treatment, he was taken to a nearby hospital. However, all efforts to save the young man's life failed. He died only a short time later, probably as a result of his collapse. This was also announced by the officials, but without giving any further details about the circumstances of his death.
"There are presumably no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the public prosecutor's office", initial information suggested, ruling out the possibility of any outside involvement.

Winter Warmer Run - running for a good cause
The "Winter Warmer Run" is a charity run that takes place at the beginning of the calendar year in various cities in the United Kingdom. In addition to Glasgow, the event organized by "The Fix Events" also takes place in Manchester, Newcastle and Edinburgh.
The proceeds from the event are donated to a good cause, for example to Shelter Cymru. The Welsh charity is involved in building homes for the needy and homeless - which can support other projects with financial assistance.
