As Ed Romaine, the head of Suffolk County government, recently reported on Facebook, police and firefighters were called to an emergency.

According to a report byNews 12 Long Island, a 24-year-old man was walking his four-legged friend near a park at noon on January 30 (local time). His dog apparently ran into a drained pond and got stuck in the thick, sticky mud.

When the young man tried to free him, he got stuck himself - apparently up to his chest. He was in danger of sinking! Fortunately, however, he somehow managed to call for help.
