Landlord enters apartment for the first time in 32 years - and can't believe his eyes!
Maine (USA) - He himself is younger than the apartment. Syed Zafar (31) was all the more surprised when he saw it for the first time last month. A woman had lived there for 32 years, but she has since moved out. Zafar bought the apartment in the US state of Maine in May 2024, but only viewed it in January 2025.

In a video that went viral on TikTok last month, the new owner walks through the rooms with wide eyes. Astonished, he shows users that time seems to have stood still here.
Zafar, who bought the entire house, stands in amazement in the kitchen, which was apparently built in 1993 and has not been changed much since.
The 32-year-old is particularly bothered by the stove, because he thinks it looks completely outdated. On the other hand, he is also delighted because the apartment is in perfect condition.
"It's not often you find a place where someone has lived for 32 years and kept it in such good condition," said Zafar in an interview with Newsweek this week - and went one better.
In the viral hit, Syed Zafar walks through every room

"I will definitely never see anything like it again," he told the US magazine with conviction. But not only the buyer, but also TikTok users are fascinated by the curious apartment.
The work, in which Zafar slowly walks through the furnished rooms, which all look as if nothing has changed there since the early 1990s, has achieved more than 950,000 clicks.
In the meantime, however, the TikToker has returned to the future and is planning a complete renovation. Before the apartment is rented out again, the main aim is to add modern touches.
After that, it should look like a new-fashioned apartment. Zafar is already joking about the next rental: "Maybe for another 32 years."
