Palma de Mallorca - On Tuesday morning there was a bloody incident at Mallorca airport in which a man was seriously injured.

As the Mallorca Zeitung reported, citing police reports, the victim was standing in the arrivals hall of the airport at around 10.30 am, apparently to pick up an acquaintance.

Without any warning, he was suddenly attacked with a knife and stabbed in the neck.

Before the attack, the alleged perpetrator had, according to witnesses, confronted the man and his companion with confused, incomprehensible questions until the brutal attack finally occurred.

Numerous passers-by who witnessed the drama reacted immediately and alerted the police . Officers from the National Police were able to quickly apprehend and arrest the alleged attacker.

The injured man was immediately given medical treatment and taken to hospital.

The arrested man is to be brought before a magistrate this Wednesday. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
