As Krone reports, a 23-year-old woman was the victim of a harrowing assault on July 6, 2023, as she was taking the subway home after her night shift.

A 36-year-old man secretly followed her and waited for her to open her apartment door.

As soon as she had unlocked it, he brutally pushed the woman to the floor in her apartment, beat her and tried to assault her.

In her panic, she offered him money to stop him - but the man would have none of it. He told her that he "only wanted sex" and continued his attack. It was only when he found out how old the victim was that the perpetrator let go of her.

According to his lawyer, he was "shocked" by her age and asked himself what he was actually up to.

The 36-year-old was sentenced to prison

The court sentenced the 36-year-old yesterday (Friday) for trespassing and grievous bodily harm.

The accused claimed to have been heavily intoxicated and under the influence of drugs . He had made a mistake at the door as he was actually looking for his ex-girlfriend.

However, he could not explain why he attacked the 23-year-old. His defense lawyer suggested that a recently diagnosed brain tumor could have been responsible for the attack.

The 36-year-old was nevertheless sentenced to 20 months in prison, but lodged an appeal. The verdict is therefore not yet final.

The young woman continues to suffer from the consequences of the assault and received a payment of 6810 euros.
