Model (24) is hit by a reversing car at a party and dies

Elise Hodder was at a raver party in Kooyong , Australia, on Sunday night. She and two other people were suddenly hit by a vehicle in a parking lot at around 1 a.m., which is said to have been reversing at high speed.

While a 25-year-old escaped unharmed, a young woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries to her lower body, where she required emergency surgery, according to Yahoo! news . Without the intervention, the 26-year-old victim would probably have lost her ankles.

For Hodder, however, all help came too late. The model died at the scene of the accident .

Shortly before her death, the Australian had achieved a professional milestone: she had been featured in New York's Vanguard Magazine. A few days ago, she proudly posted a photo of the newspaper on her Instagram page.

A 23-year-old man from Melbourne is said to have been at the wheel of the car involved in the accident. At the time of the accident, he is said to have had three times the permitted amount of alcohol in his blood as well as cannabis.

Father mourns publicly on the internet

Following the incident, he was charged with several offenses, including negligent driving causing death and negligent causing serious injury. According to the local police, the young man had also been driving without a license.

Elise's father spoke out on social media : "You were the most beautiful, caring and supportive woman," he wrote sadly. Her death had "torn him apart". "We will cherish every memory and support all your friends as you always did for others." A friend wrote: "To know Elise was to love Elise."

The police must now find out exactly how the tragic accident could have happened.
