Mother in distress: A complete stranger gives her daughter the perfect Christmas present!
USA - A mother realized on Christmas Eve that a present for her daughter was missing - but then a Christmas miracle happened !
Marisa Shumaker (26), a mother who calls herself "Kaisa" on TikTok, wanted to set up the gift - a keyboard - for her daughter when she realized that there was only the stand in the box.
As People reports, she panicked. It had arrived in a huge package and was so heavy that she didn't think the actual instrument would be missing.
"I was so scared that this would be the moment the Christmas magic would end for my four-year-old daughter (...) This keyboard was the only thing she had ever wanted from Santa. My heart was pounding at the thought that her Christmas joy could be destroyed so soon," said the 26-year-old.
She frantically searched online for a replacement, but as it was already Christmas Eve, she couldn't find anything that would be delivered on the morning of Christmas Day. In the US, where Shumaker lives, it is traditional to unwrap presents on the morning of December 25.
In her distress, she turned to her local Facebook group and asked if anyone could help her. Sure enough, she received a message - at two o'clock in the morning! A man wrote to her saying he had just such a keyboard and would be happy to bring it to her that very night.
Marisa Shumaker experienced a true Christmas miracle
"I was overjoyed that there was a glimmer of hope to save Christmas, but of course I was also a little nervous (...) I decided to trust him and hope that 'Santa' would show up - and not some crazy axe murderer," Shumaker joked.
Despite her misgivings, she met the man in a safe parking lot near her home. When he finally showed up and presented her with a brand new keyboard, she thanked him profusely - he had saved her Christmas after all!
She actually wanted to pay for his generosity and asked if he used Facebook Pay as she didn't have any cash with her. But he refused: He didn't want payment, he just wanted to see how happy the keyboard would make her daughter.
On the morning of Christmas Day, Shumaker's daughter finally woke up and dashed downstairs to open her presents. When she saw the keyboard, her joy was boundless - she played it for over an hour with no interest in any other presents!
