Mysterious disappearance: Woman sends cryptic messages - then she goes missing
Bermondsey - Police are currently searching for an Australian waitress who disappeared from a backpacker's hostel in London two weeks ago - and sent a series of cryptic text messages to friends.
The Daily Mail reports that 29-year-old Jessica Parkinson has been missing since December 8 after her father reported her missing.
He had previously been unable to contact his daughter and had been concerned when she also failed to show up for her shift at barbecue restaurant Texas Joes. This was highly unusual as Jessica was known for her reliability.
The restaurant manager then tried to reach her by text message, to which she replied that she had her workday wrong in her head, but promised to show up at 5pm.
However, she did not show up as agreed. Since then, there has been no trace of the 29-year-old.
Before her disappearance, she is said to have sent some strange messages to colleagues.
Jessica Parkinson had to leave her shared flat and lived in a hostel
She had recently been struggling with a difficult housing situation after being kicked out of her shared flat and forced to stay at St Christopher's Inn Hostel.
These circumstances put a strain on her, but the manager of the restaurant helped her to find new accommodation.
Jessica had also planned to travel to Australia to visit her family over the holidays and stay there until March. However, despite her travel plans, neither her family nor her friends have heard from her since.
The police are currently investigating her disappearance at full speed.
