New Year's Eve party ends in tragedy: 10-year-old girl killed by cheering shot!
Miami-Dade County (USA) - A 10-year-old girl was fatally injured by a so-called cheer shot on the night of New Year's Day in Florida.
As the New York Post reports, 10-year-old Yanelis Manguia and her family were celebrating the New Year on the street on the evening of December 31, 2024, setting off fireworks together.
The atmosphere was cheerful when Yanelis collapsed just a few minutes after midnight. Her shocked family members immediately rushed to her side and discovered a bleeding bullet wound to the back of her head.
Apparently she had been hit by a bullet that had been fired into the air and then fallen down again.
The family members frantically alerted the emergency services and placed the girl in the back of a car.
Yanelis Manguia was immediately taken to hospital
It was already too late at the hospital. Despite the quick reaction and efforts of the doctors, they were only able to determine her death.
The Miami-Dade police have launched an investigation to find the perpetrator responsible for the fatal "cheer shot".
On Platform X, she voiced her displeasure at the tragedy, urgently reminding people that everything fired into the air eventually comes back to the ground.
Yanelis had celebrated her 10th birthday just a few days earlier, on December 26.
Now her family is faced with the difficult task of organizing her funeral. To cover the high costs, they have set up a GoFundMe page to collect donations.
