24-year-old Jade Kahukore-Dixon had only just started his dream job as an abalone diver when fate struck cruelly in the South Pacific off New Zealand in November.

As part of the film team for the ZDF documentary two-parter"Treasure Island in the Pacific", the young diver gave fascinating insights into the depths of the ocean - but shortly afterwards his life was tragically ended by a great white shark.

It was only when the TV report was broadcast on January 8 and 9 that viewers learned of the tragic accident that cost the talented adventurer his life.

In the documentary, the film crew mourned the loss of the courageous man who never shied away from the dangers of the sea.

Kahukore-Dixon was always aware of the risks involved in diving in shark areas. He once encountered a five-meter-long shark that circled him - but he escaped by hiding behind a rock.

Unfortunately, this fearlessness proved to be his undoing. During a boat trip, the young diver jumped into the water and was immediately attacked by a great white shark. He was seriously injured and taken to hospital, but all help came too late.
