The"Last Generation Austria" and climate activist posted a video on Instagram and X in which Windl informs her followers that she will be serving a prison sentence in a detention center in Klagenfurt over the next six weeks.

Windl has been in the media several times in recent weeks and months due to a number of protest actions.

She regularly took part in road blockades in Germany and Austria and paralyzed flight operations at Stuttgart Airport by blocking the runway with a few other members of the "Last Generation". She also smeared the party headquarters of the Austrian People's Party in Vienna with dog excrement.

All these actions led to countless lawsuits for damages against the climate activist, who was nicknamed "Climate Shakira" due to her appearance. Over time, a sum amounting to several tens of thousands of euros accumulated. An amount that the young psychology student could not and did not want to pay.

For this reason, she decided to serve a "substitute custodial sentence", which is now due.

In addition to Anja Windl, her friend and "Last Generation" colleague Laila Fuisz (23) also has to go to prison. She was also part of the dog excrement attack against the ÖVP party headquarters at the beginning of the year.

In their two statements on Instagram, however, the two women are anything but understanding.

Both are determined to carry on exactly where they left off when they are released from prison.
