"Only the AfD can save Germany" - Elon Musk provokes with a radical tweet
USA/Germany - "Only the AfD can save Germany", at least that's what Elon Musk (53) claimed in a tweet on Friday morning .
The 53-year-old linked to a video by far-right influencer Naomi Seibt (24).
In the past, the 24-year-old has repeatedly spread false statements about the climate crisis and the coronavirus pandemic.
In the video shared by Musk, the 24-year-old sharply attacked CDU chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz (69).
She accused him of driving forward the "suicide of Germany" by considering a black-green coalition with the "moronic" Robert Habeck (55, Greens).
The AfD candidate for chancellor , Alice Weidel (45), reacted promptly to his words this morning. She thanked Musk and wished him, as well as the re-elected US President Donald Trump (78), "all the best for the coming term of office".
Elon Musk once again supports the AfD
This is not the first time that Musk has interfered in German politics.
In the past, he insulted former German Chancellor Angela Merkel (70, CDU) and agitated against current Chancellor Olaf Scholz (66, SPD).
In contrast, the 53-year-old showed sympathy towards the AfD. He repeatedly supported tweets by Björn Höcke (52), the leader of the right-wing populist party in the Thuringian state parliament.
Meanwhile, Musk and Trump are planning to work closely together over the next four years. The Tesla founder is to serve as co-head of the newly founded "Department of Government Efficiency". This institution aims to reduce bureaucracy, loosen regulations and cut government spending.
However, critics fear that Musk could weaken or abolish regulations that affect him personally or hinder his economic interests.
