Out after 15 minutes! Another worry for DFB star Füllkrug
Birmingham (Great Britain) - A bitter setback at the start of the second half of the season, a premature end after just 15 minutes! The still young calendar year 2025 could hardly have started much more bitterly for Niclas Füllkrug (31), as the German international was once again forced to his knees by an injury.

Last Friday evening, the 31-year-old West Ham United attacker had to be substituted after just a quarter of an hour during his team's match in the third round of the FC Cup at league rivals Aston Villa.
The former Bundesliga player from SV Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund went down on the pitch through no fault of his opponent.
His face contorted in pain, he held his left thigh and at the same time made it clear to his teammates that he could not continue.
Supported by two coaches, he was taken off the pitch after initial medical treatment. According to several media outlets, including the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), he had to leave the pitch due to a pulled muscle. The Hannover-born player's club had not confirmed this.
At the start of the Premier League season last summer, the striker had already suffered an Achilles tendon irritation and was out for a long time as a result. He had to take a full ten games off, which is why he has only made a meagre nine league appearances for the club from the east of the metropolis of London.

West Ham United with Niclas Füllkrug knocked out of FA Cup
In addition to the threat of his striker's forced absence, West Ham's new head coach Graham Potter (49), who was introduced last Thursday as the successor to Spain's Julen Lopetegui (58), suffered another setback on his debut. The 49-year-old Englishman's team were knocked out of the cup competition with a 2-1 defeat at Villa Park.
In the cup duel, his team took the lead with a goal from Lucas Paquetá (9th minute). However, they lost the lead as the second half progressed and were ultimately beaten 2-1. The goals for the Birmingham club were scored by Amadou Onana (71') and Morgan Rogers (76').
