The 42-year-old is nominated because she "made international headlines this year and sparked a discussion about the privacy and health of public figures", according to the magazine.

In addition to the princess, other women are also on the list: US Vice President Kamala Harris (60), Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum (62) and Russian economist Yulia Navalnaya (48).

As Page Six reported, the list was published on Monday and the winner is to be announced on Thursday.

The future Queen was already on the Time100 list of the most influential people in 2013 and came second in the 2011 Person of the Year poll.
