According to Promiflash, the 43-year-old was reprimanded by the late Queen Elizabeth II (†96) before her wedding to Prince Harry (49).

The incident occurred during a rehearsal of the wedding menu at Windsor Castle in May 2018, when Meghan complained about a vegan dish.

As royal expert Katie Nicholl reports in her book, Meghan complained that she had tasted egg in the dish and sharply criticized the staff.

The Queen is said to have been present at the incident and responded with the words: "Meghan, we don't speak to people like that in this family."

There were apparently other tensions in the run-up to the wedding

However, this is not said to have been the only tension before the couple's big day.

As the royal biographer Robert Lacey (80) describes in his book, Prince Harry is also said to have always reacted angrily when he was denied a wish during the planning.

Another incident is said to have revolved around Meghan's tiara, in which Harry is said to have said: "What Meghan wants, Meghan gets", to which the Queen replied: "Meghan can't have everything she wants. She gets the tiara I give her."

Harry later denied ever having said this and explained in his memoirs that his relationship with his grandmother had always been respectful and loving.
