It was a terrible sight that the police officers will never forget: On December 2, 2023, they were called to a house and found 2-year-old boy River Carter lifeless in his room.

As the Daily Mail reports, the little boy had been exposed to extremely high temperatures for over 12 hours due to a radiant heater being switched on.

A tragic and cruel end for the innocent River, whose life was his father's responsibility at the time.

It was not until more than a year later, after a thorough evaluation of the autopsy results, that 39-year-old Aaron Lynwood Carter was arrested.
