Ranger murdered: National park mourns the loss of popular colleague
Sanoma (USA) - The murder of a popular and respected Sonoma County Regional Park ranger has shaken a community in the US state of California.
As the Daily Mail reports, ranger Katranne Pringle was found dead in her remote mountain home east of Santa Rosa the day before Thanksgiving.
Officers from the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office conducted a checkup around 12:30 p.m. after Pringle - in a completely unusual move for her - failed to show up for work.
When police arrived at the house, officers noticed that the lights were on and the front door was open.
After knocking several times but receiving no answer, the officers entered the building.
Inside the house, the officers made a shocking discovery
Pringle lay dead in a pool of blood, next to her former colleague Keith Gray. Both had gunshot wounds.
On Tuesday, it was announced that 43-year-old former Ranger Keith Gray had killed Katranne Pringle and then committed suicide.
So far, no motive for the tragedy has been given and the investigation is still ongoing. It is therefore still unclear whether there was a closer relationship between Katranne Pringle and Keith Gray.
The news of Katranne's death has shaken her colleagues at Sonoma County Regional Park. They are deeply saddened and shocked by the loss of the dedicated ranger who was greatly appreciated by all.
During this difficult time, a GoFundMe donation pagehas been set up to support her family and cover the costs of the funeral and memorial.
