Shock! Doctor allegedly killed colleague with axe and raped acquaintance

Pilsen (Czech Republic) - An incomprehensible act of violence shocks the Czech Republic : a doctor (40) has been charged with beating a 28-year-old female doctor to death with an axe. He later allegedly drove to the home of an acquaintance (37), raped her and tried to strangle her.

Czech media such as Novinky and iDNES reported on this.

"On October 22, the chief inspector of the General Crime Department of the Pilsen Regional Police Directorate initiated criminal proceedings against the man [...]," police spokeswoman Dagmar Brožová told iDNES. He was charged with murder and attempted murder in connection with rape, she said.

The 40-year-old had broken into the apartment of a 28-year-old colleague in Pilsen at the weekend, whom he had known from his time at Pilsen University Hospital. There he allegedly tied up the victim, beat her and killed her with an axe.

As Novinky reported, citing official sources, this is said to have taken place between Friday evening and Saturday morning. He then ran off.

A 37-year-old woman survived the crime

Presumably on Sunday morning, he is said to have visited a 37-year-old acquaintance in nearby Třemošná. He tied her up, beat her, raped her and tried to strangle her. The victim had fainted but was still alive. In the evening, the doctor probably drove back to the deceased's apartment in Pilsen - presumably to cover his tracks.

Spokeswoman Brožová told Plzeňský deník : "The man, who is suspected of both crimes and attempted suicide, was arrested by police officers from the police intervention unit during a forced entry into an apartment in Pilsen." The investigation into the heinous acts is ongoing.

TAG24 does not normally report on suicides or attempted suicides. However, as this case has generated a great deal of public interest, the editorial team has decided to make it a topic of discussion after all.
