Shock find in the closet: Missing teenager discovered with sex offender
Colorado (USA) - Horrible ordeal: In the US state of Colorado, a missing 16-year-old girl was found in the closet of a convicted sex offender!
As Daily Mail reports, there has been no trace of the missing 16-year-old since December 6, 2024.
The teenager could not be reached on her cell phone or on social media .
But on April 15, there was suddenly a sign of life: She sent out a call for help on her Instagram account , which may have saved her life.
Thanks to this message, investigators were able to determine the IP address and locate the whereabouts of the missing teenager.
The 16-year-old cowered in the closet
On April 18, the police finally discovered the terrified 16-year-old girl during a search - hidden in a closet in the house of Maximilian Bondrescu, a sex offender with a criminal record. The 44-year-old was arrested immediately.
Among other things, he is accused of second-degree child abduction, sexual assault of a minor, deprivation of liberty, child abuse and failure to register as a sex offender. He is currently in custody at the Larimer County Jail.
Meanwhile, the girl is trying to come to terms with her traumatic experiences.

In November 2024, a months-long ordeal began for the girl. Maximilian Bondrescu is said to have isolated the 16-year-old, constantly monitored her and made her emotionally dependent on him.
The first contact was apparently made via the app "Boo". They later shifted their communication to Snapchat. There, they are said to have made escape plans together, which they finally put into action on the night of 6 December.
Bondrescu is said to have been extremely deliberate in his approach: he avoided toll roads, carried the girl into his house wrapped in a blanket and apparently forced her to dye her hair. He also took both her ID and her cell phone.
According to reports, the 16-year-old even worked for him at a snow clearing company - always wearing a mask and sunglasses to conceal her identity.
However, the 44-year-old made a serious mistake: he gave the girl one of his old cell phones - apparently without realizing that the Instagram app was still installed on it. Using this device, she was finally able to send a message that led to her rescue.
