Shock find on railroad tracks: When a dog groomer sees this dog, she is speechless

Canada - She has been doing this job for thirteen years. But Vanessa De Prophetis has never seen anything like it in all that time. Last month, the dog groomer from Canada took in a four-legged friend called Angel from the Niagara SPCA & Humane Society. The shock ran deep when she saw the poor creature!

"I had never seen an animal so badly matted, and it was almost impossible to tell which end was which," said De Prophetis in an interview with Newsweek this week.

The poor creature had been abandoned on railroad tracks. But no one at the shelter believed Angel was a stray. The animal rights activists suspected that she had been kept in a cage for years.

"It was heartbreaking that a human had allowed their pet to get into such a state," De Prophetis told the US magazine.

On December 16, the groomer posted two videos on TikTok in which she documented her two-and-a-half-hour work.

So that she could feel Angel's body better, the Canadian went without gloves. The matted fur of her animal client caused so many problems that De Prophetis wore out several pairs of scissors.

Finally, a comparatively small puppy emerged, which was immediately put into the bathtub. "Her bath water was completely black within 30 seconds of being submerged in it," the TikToker told the news magazine.

Once the poor furry friend had survived everything, she was finally allowed to eat a large portion of dog food. A vet later diagnosed dental disease, an eye ulcer as well as ear infections, skin infections and mammary gland tumors.

So it will be months before Angel is reasonably healthy again and ready for a new family. In the meantime, the sight of the dog has touched many users. The two clips reached an audience of millions on TikTok and together received more than a million likes.

Now her rescuers are hoping that Angel will have a happy ending.
