Shock on the school bus: Drunk driver endangers children's safety!

USA - A female bus driver has been charged with drunk driving after 32 schoolchildren traveling with her reported her for her erratic driving.

Kayla Pier (38) was arrested last Thursday after taking a truly horrific ride from one elementary school to another back in September.

As reported by the New York Post, the bus was stopped by a transportation supervisor at a school in the US state of Indiana following reports from concerned children. The 38-year-old was dismissed by the company on the same day.

However, the criminal investigation did not begin until about a month later, after school authorities forwarded the results of a toxicology test to local police .

Investigators were also given videos from the school bus and photographs taken by some of the concerned children during the journey.

One of the schools affected said it was incredibly proud of its students for recognizing that something was wrong and responsibly reporting their concerns.

It continued: "Their actions are an example of the 'see something, say something' principle that we teach in our schools. These students may have prevented a serious incident through their vigilance and responsible decision making."

Kayla Pier now faces charges of drunk driving and neglect of a dependent, but has been released on bail.
